My first Haiku poem

Inspired by the 'Poetry Reading in a foreign language: Developing the sense of voice in the EFL classroom' from my recent CamTESOL Conference, I was tempted to compose my own Haiku poem :D

And here we go:

Deep blue, shining sky:
Sinking as it came washing
Shattered pieces in me.

Haiku is a form of Japanese poerty whose structural features including of 17 syllables (5-7-5). It needs seasonal reference and also a cutting word, which in this case is the use of the colon. One thing interesting about Haiku is that it provides multiple interpretations.

So, how do you interpret my Haiku? :)

Flappy bird

So, I DO play Flappy bird, and have quite a few exciting moments with the game :D

It was during a hot lunch break at my regular coffee shop when my friend showed me this Flappy thingy. After many rounds struggling to navigate the bird through the green pipes, I just literally loathed the game, and I swore I DID.

However, I guess what brought me back to it was simple. We couldn't be so easily defeated in life, let alone by GAME. So then I voluntarily got myself hooked into the Flappy. I would say at this point, it was not just for entertainment, since I and Flappy are attached by the string of memory.

Once was I found Tommy Joe twitted about his 'sheer rage' when the bird died and that he decided he would uninstall the game, another was a picture of Adam Lambert performing on stage with his hands motioned like the Flappy bird,

and another was just yesterday, when I was on the plane feeling like a winner as my Flappy passed the 15th pipe and there he was, the flight attendant calling me "ma'dam" to give me tissue, and right that moment when I looked up at him, my bird failed! Poor me! and he was smiling to see my 'game over'!!!

Anyway, I like the game, and set the target to 'conquer' 50 pipes in one week :))
